Storage Manager & Cleaner

Privacy policy for the Storage Manager & Cleaner Android application published by ZUSTEC.

Effective date: 14 April 2026

Last updated: 14 April 2026

1. Who we are

ZUSTEC ("we", "our", "us") develops the app Storage Manager & Cleaner for Android. This policy explains what information is involved when you use the app, why we request certain permissions (including storage and notifications), and how we protect your privacy. If you do not agree with this policy, please do not use the app.

2. What the app does

Storage Manager & Cleaner combines device cleaning (such as freeing space from cache, residuals, duplicates, or similar categories you choose to review) with local file-management tools so you can browse folders, inspect large files, and delete content only when you confirm an action inside the app. The app is designed so that destructive actions (such as deleting files) are initiated by you, not performed automatically without your choice.

3. Information the app accesses and processes

To provide cleaning and file-management features, the app may process the following categories of information on your device:

  • Storage metadata: paths, filenames, sizes, mime types, and modification dates as needed to list and categorize items (for example junk, large files, or duplicates).
  • App-specific data on device: cache or residual information where Android allows access for cleanup, strictly to show you what can be reclaimed.
  • No account is required to use core features. We do not ask you to create a profile inside the app for basic storage management.

Important: Analysis for scanning and recommendations is performed locally on your device. We do not upload your photos, documents, browsing history, or full file contents to our servers as part of normal cleaning or browsing in the current version described by this policy.

4. Permissions we may request (and why)

Android shows permission dialogs controlled by Google and your device manufacturer. We request access only where it is needed for the feature you use. Typical permissions include:

  • Files and media / storage (“All files access” or scoped storage, depending on your Android version): Required so the app can act as a storage manager and file manager—browse directories, calculate sizes, find duplicates or large items, and let you delete or move files after you review them. Without this access, core cleaning and file-browsing features cannot function.
  • Photos and videos (where applicable): May be used on some devices when the system separates media access from general storage, for example to help you identify duplicate or large media when you choose those tools. Access is tied to explicit in-app flows (such as scanning or opening a gallery view), not background harvesting of your gallery.
  • Notifications (including POST_NOTIFICATIONS on Android 13+): Used only for functional, user-relevant notices—for example when a long scan completes, storage is low, or you asked to be reminded about cleanup. You can disable notifications in Android system settings for Storage Manager & Cleaner at any time. We do not use notifications as a substitute for consent for unrelated data access.
  • Internet / network: The app may use the network only where you use a feature that clearly requires it or where we ship a future update that relies on connectivity (such as fetching app updates or optional crash diagnostics). Where such features exist, we list them clearly in-app and reflect them here before they ship.
  • Other permissions: If we introduce additional permissions (for example for a specific integration), we will update this policy and the in-app disclosure before the feature goes live, alongside the rationale required by Google Play.

5. Deletion of data and user control

When you delete files or clear categories through Storage Manager & Cleaner, deletion happens on your device according to Android rules. Recoverability may depend on your device backups or cloud sync—those services are governed by their own providers (for example Google Drive), not by this app.

You can stop all processing by uninstalling the app. Uninstall removes the application data stored in the app’s private area on that device unless Android retains backups according to device settings.

6. Data we collect from you directly

If you email us for support (for example at zustec.pk@gmail.com), we receive your email address, the contents of your message, and any attachments you send. We use that information only to respond and improve support. Do not send sensitive passwords or unrelated personal documents unless we request them for troubleshooting.

7. Selling data / advertising / analytics

We do not sell your personal information. We do not rent lists of users or monetize permission-based access to your files as ad inventory.

If we add optional analytics or crash reporting in a future build, we will name the vendor (for example Firebase, if used), describe what is collected at a category level (device model, anonymized identifiers, crash stack traces, etc.), and update this privacy policy before that version is published on Google Play.

8. Legal bases and regions (EU / UK)

If you are in the European Economic Area or the United Kingdom, we rely on legitimate interests and your consent where required (for example for certain permissions triggered by OS dialogs) to operate the app. You may contact us to exercise access, correction, objection, deletion, or portability requests regarding information we hold that identifies you— notably support emails. File contents on your device are under your control rather than ours.

9. Children

Storage Manager & Cleaner is not directed at children under 13 (or the age required by your country). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child provided us information, please contact us and we will take appropriate steps.

10. Security

We design the app so sensitive operations occur on-device and minimize exposure of your file system. Protect your device with a lock screen and follow standard Android guidance. No mobile app can guarantee absolute security; use care when approving deletions suggested by any cleaner or file manager.

11. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy when the app changes (for example new permissions or features). We will revise the effective date above and, where required by Google Play or law, notify you via the Play Store listing, an in-app notice, or similar. Continuing to use the app after the update means you acknowledge the revised policy.
